Scarlett Johansson is participating in the “Nature’s Artistry” campaign by David Yurman. While she has worn valuable jewelry from renowned jewelry houses, there is one specific piece that holds great meaning to her – a new David Yurman rubber Cable Bracelet. This bracelet is being sold for $20, with all profits going towards supporting The Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC). The timing of the release aligns perfectly with the new David Yurman spring campaign, featuring Scarlett Johansson, and the talented Shawn Mendes. The campaign showcases a collection of portraits and short films that highlight nature as a source of inspiration for David Yurman.
In her second year collaborating with the jewelry house, Marking Johannsson has been announced as an ambassador for David Yurman this past spring. Starting on April 13, 20% of sales from a carefully selected collection of David Yurman designs, handpicked by Johannsson, will contribute to the LESGC. This organization provides free programming in art, STEM, digital media, leadership, entrepreneurship, and wellness for young women of color in New York City. The previous partnership between Johannsson and David Yurman resulted in raising over $300K for the nonprofit. Johannsson discusses her new David Yurman campaign, the jewelry pieces she plans to pass down to her daughter, and her personal jewelry preferences and style.

Why did you choose to continue collaborating with David Yurman? I decided to continue working with David Yurman because of my wonderful experience with Evan Yurman and his parents. It may seem strange since it is such a globally recognized brand, but it feels like a cozy family project to me. The Yurman family is incredibly warm and welcoming, and their creative energy is truly amazing. Collaborating with them on our campaigns is a pleasure because it allows all of us to unleash our creativity together. It’s incredible to see the images we create displayed in various cities and iconic locations. It’s a surreal feeling, and the results are absolutely stunning.
What was your favorite aspect of shooting the new campaign? I really enjoyed being in that location. I have such a special connection and fond memories with the east end of Long Island, and I know it holds meaning for Evan and his parents as well to be in that stunning setting. Although it was work, it didn’t feel like work at all. There was a certain ease to shooting the campaign, which is unusual when you’re working with a big client. In the past, when I’ve collaborated with major fashion houses, there’s often been pressure from the client. You’re not always sure if you’re capturing their vision and it can be quite stressful. However, this time it felt like hanging out with friends and creating beautiful images and videos. It’s been such a wonderful experience because we’re all genuinely enjoying ourselves. The day was absolutely perfect, with beautiful weather. I think the campaign has an effortless chic vibe, just like their jewelry.
What draws you to the Nature’s Artistry collection? I find it to be incredibly personal, especially for Evan. The designs truly reflect his individuality and showcase his exceptional creativity. It’s inspiring to see the passion he puts into each piece – from the way it moves to how it is intricately crafted and connected to the rest of the collection. That attention to detail is something I truly appreciate. Working with artists like Evan and being a part of this collection holds a significant artistic significance, and it holds great meaning for both him and myself.
What inspired you to support The Lower Eastside Girls Club? The Yurman family has a strong commitment to philanthropy, which is truly admirable. They consistently back a variety of organizations that hold personal significance to them. Therefore, it was crucial for Evian to choose specific projects where we could collaborate. The idea of supporting The Lower Eastside Girls Club came to mind because our initial campaign centered around our shared love for New York City. We filmed during a time when the city was still struggling with the effects of COVID-19. After months of quarantine, it symbolized our desire to come together again and witness the city’s reopening. I wanted to align with an organization that directly impacted the residents of this area, and The Lower Eastside Girls Club felt like a perfect fit. It operates as a safe haven for girls, allowing them to explore their passions and utilize their creativity to discover potential career paths. The club fosters a sense of community and connectivity among these young women. It’s inspiring to see graduates of the club dedicating themselves to grassroots initiatives that profoundly impact people’s lives. This organization nurtures and encourages leadership, which makes it even more remarkable.
Scarlett Johansson is currently the face of the “Nature’s Artistry” campaign by David Yurman. Personally, how do you prefer to style your jewelry? On a daily basis, I enjoy wearing jewelry and I usually opt for the same layering pieces consistently. It just occurred to me that I tend to gravitate towards jewelry that has been gifted to me. When I was younger, I used to buy a lot of jewelry for myself because my mom taught me that I shouldn’t wait for others to buy it for me. As I’ve grown older, though, I find myself cherishing the pieces that have been given to me more. I have accumulated many precious items that I plan to pass down to my daughter, as they hold sentimental value. My father, who was an architect, introduced me to Victorian jewelry, and my aunt, a specialist in Victorian jewelry in London, has an impressive collection. I have learned a great deal about the designs and meanings behind the pieces through their guidance and my own exploration.
Typically, I tend to wear the same outfits every day. However, I have some truly beautiful items given to me by my husband, as well as a stunning ring crafted by Eva. This ring, with a gorgeous opal that holds sentimental value for both of us as we share a love for gemstones and opals, is something I wear every day. It holds a special place in my heart as he surprised me with it, presenting a tray of radiant opals he had collected over the years from gem shows and similar places. As we chatted, he mentioned his intention to create a ring using one of these opals, which was an incredibly thoughtful gesture. To represent my family, he even added a small stone to each opal. I cherish this ring and wear it daily alongside my other jewelry. Although I do not change my jewelry as frequently as I used to, I occasionally do so when I go out or for special events. On the red carpet, I have had the privilege of wearing exquisite pieces, such as vintage collections from Bulgari dating back to the 1960s. These unique pieces are typically stored away in secret vaults. Whenever possible, I try to access these hidden gems by requesting access to the vaults of old jewelry houses. It is always an exciting experience to discover and wear priceless pieces that have remained unseen for decades. Often, these pieces are repurchased from personal collections by the houses themselves and kept for inspiration or other purposes. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to wear several of these remarkable pieces from Bulgari and Cartier. This year, as I attend the Cannes Film Festival, I am planning to collaborate with David Yurman on a piece specifically for the event. While I am uncertain about the design at this stage, I am eager to see the final result. Additionally, for Mother’s Day, my daughter Rose surprised me with a necklace from Zales that is now my most treasured possession. She and my husband went to purchase it, and I am incredibly grateful for their thoughtfulness. Kudos to Zales for providing such a special piece.
